This the music page. You will find out what sort of music i like and learn about mp3s, what they are, where to get them, and how to listen to them.

Here are some of the bands i like Blink182, Pennywise, Grinspoon, Frenzal Rhomb, GreenDay, Silverchair, and a little of Rage Against The Machine and Metallica. But that doesn't mean i don't like any of those charty songs, cos some of them which are released are not bad. So really i like any song which is decent and sounds good.

Just some links to the official websites of the groups below

What are mp3 files and what do they do?

MP3 files are data files, which contain compressed CD quality audio. They cannot be opened with any of the normal utilities that come bundled with Windows 95 - you need a special MP3 Player to play them. By far, the best player for listening to MP3 files in Windows 95/98 is Winamp. It's easy to install, and even easier to use.

This is what Winamp looks like

What do I need to listen to mp3 files?

This is what it looks like with one of my skins

Well, of course, you need a computer that has a sound card of some sort. If you don't have a sound card, then your next step is off to the computer store, to purchase one! Since MP3 files are compressed (to save disk space), they need to be decompressed by the MP3 player, in real time, while the song is playing.

You do need a REASONABLY fast 'puter to be able to decompress the file, and send the audio data to the sound card. If your computer is too slow, then the song will skip, and the audio quality will suffer. I recommend at a MINIMUM a Pentium 120 MHz machine, to listen to MP3 files at their highest quality.

Where can I get mp3 files

You can download them at my choice: TheMusicLover. But you can search for songs and download them at Kermit

By the way, i didn't write all that stuff bout mp3s up there except for the last one.
